About Tailwell

Tailwell started with a simple observation: the gear most dogs travel with is either flimsy, confusing, or built for a different trip than the one you are actually taking. A carrier that fits the airline but not the dog. A leash that looks fine in the store and frays on the third hike. A car cover that slides off the seat on the first sharp turn.

So we sell gear chosen around real trips: road trips, flights, hikes, vet runs, and the everyday walk that turns into an adventure. Every product in the store earns its place by being useful on at least one of those trips — and by being honest about what it does. If a carrier needs measuring, we say so and show you how. If airline rules decide whether a carrier works, we tell you to check with the airline rather than guessing.

How we choose gear

• Fit first. A carrier that does not fit the dog is not a carrier — it is a bag. We publish dimensions and measuring guidance, and we link them from every carrier page.
• Hardware that holds. Zippers, buckles, straps, and seams are where travel gear fails. We look for reinforced stitching, solid hardware, and closures that survive daily use.
• Easy to clean. Travel gear gets dirty. Wipe-clean surfaces, washable pads, and rinseable bowls are not luxuries — they are the difference between gear you keep and gear you throw away.
• Plain-language guidance. Every collection has a buying guide, and every product page states the shipping, returns, and defect-cover terms in full.
